Regina Roark
Owner / Hair Stylist
Regina began her career in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1984. She had a short stint in Little Rock before moving to Dallas where she worked for 10yrs before moving to Durango in 1997. Regina started working at Shampoo Salon in August after moving here in May. In April of 2020 Regina and Miss Jane Fogleman purchased Shampoo.
Regina’s specialties are custom color and corrective hair color and precision haircuts. If you have had a bad color experience or problem hair in general she’s your girl.
Thera Smith
Hair Stylist
Thera Smith graduated in 2006 from The Toni & Guy Academy in Albuquerque. After graduating she worked for 2 years at a Bumble and Bumble salon before coming to Durango. Thera worked at Lemon Head Salon for a few years before joining the team at Shampoo in 2019.
Thera offers a wide range of services; Tint, highlights, lowlights, men and women’s haircuts and Brazilian blowouts. She also specializes in weddings and Halo extensions. The best things about the halo’s are they are removable, you can wear them or not wear them whenever you want.
Kim Sorenson
Hair Stylist
Kim Sorenson is originally from Spokane, WA where she began here career in 1987. Kim comes from a long line of people in the industry (mom and dad and uncles and cousins) it is literally in her blood. She moved to Phoenix where she worked for 20+ years and then her and her husband moved to the mountains in 2020. Kim came to Shampoo Salon in July of 2022 and is a valued member of the team.
Kim’s specialties are; working with challenging hair textures. She is a Master colorist specializing in Framesi color and is great at corrective cuts and color. If you didn’t notice she began her career in the 80’s and can wrap a perm in about a million different ways. She gives an amazing blowout and scalp massage and is great at men’s cuts too.

Katie Mothersell
Esthetician
Katie is a licensed esthetician AND eyelash extension artist. She has 12 years of growing education and experience in the beauty industry. She has been living in Colorado for 20 years and 5 right here in Durango.
Katie’s specialties are:

- Facial cupping
- Dermaflash
- Full body waxing
- Eye lash lifts and tints and brow tinting
Katie aims to improve the quality and condition of your skin, raise your self image, accentuate and enhance your individual beauty. She has an excellent understanding of the climate conditions Coloradans live in and loves to educate her clients on skin care. Katie believes in using local products made in Colorado and European products with excellent effective ingredients.
